The August Fun/Social shoot went ahead on a day that started out as slightly overcast but in the end the weather was fine with good sunshine by the time the B-B-Q was fired up.

It was expected that due to the date it would be a bit of a low turnout, what with holidays and the World Championships being on so it was no surprise that there were only 10 archers willing to brave Fonmon.

Those that turned up on the day enjoyed a good shoot and the usual target 10 balloon shot to finish, given the numbers and archers that made up the shoot we decided to have a simple 10 target shoot with all archers competing for the prize at the end.

We made a few changes to the scoring - the round now includes a few 'expert' targets but the Balloon shot is stil the one to make or break a close score, however, to add a bit more of a twist the final score for each archer was supplimented by their Friday handicap.

A few archers noted being knobbled by the balloon score !

In all a great day - we were lucky with the weather again - please do support your club and come along - bring partners and family - lots of non archery conversation and we supply the B-B-Q for you to cook your food on so its - turn up - shoot a few ends if you want - socialise and enjoy!

The May Fun shoot went ahead on a grey overcast day that threatened rain but failed to dampen the spirits of those that braved the day, in the end the weather was okay with only a short light shower. The sun tried its best in the afternoon but the rain tried harder toward the end of the day, however we had finished the B-B-Q by then anyway so we all made our way home having had a nice relaxing day and a fun shoot !

The small number of us that braved the day enjoyed a good shoot with a lot of conversation and the usual target 10 balloon shot to finish, the scores for the top two Pro/Am teams were close. It was good to see Ben come along for his first shoot at Fonmon - he seemed to enjoy it and put in a very respectable score for a first time.

The 2009 Christmas do was held in the Blue Anchor Aberthaw and was well attended. All enjoyed the food, drink and the company and the sucess gave us an appetite to grow the social side of the cflub more. The committee wish to thank all for attending and supporting the club and thank the organisers for arranging it all.
